Scavenger Hunt
Welcome to SouthLake Pre-K! Please have your parents help you find each
center. Check each circle as you complete each task. You do not have to go in any particular
order.
Please do not take anything off of the shelves. Next week we will begin to explore our
wonderful
Pre-k learning environment!
0 Find the white
board easel and write your name on the sign-in sheet.
O Find your red
bucket and cubby in the hallway outside of the classroom. This is where you will put your bucket and
belongings each morning before you come into the classroom.
O Find the
bathroom. Try flushing the toilet. Find the sink, step on the stool and wash
your hands with soap and water. Don’t
forget to dry-off your hands with a paper towel and throw it away in the
trashcan.
O Find your
teacher and say “Good morning Mrs. Sporre”.
O Class Library:
Browse through a basket of books. Take a
bookmark home with you. This year we
will learn about letters, sounds, words, literature and authors.
O Literacy
Center: Red Banner Investigate the
Literacy Mystery Box. Take home a baggie
of letters to sort. We will have fun
with letters, sounds, books and stories every day!
O Math Center: Blue
Banner Locate the math center. Explore the variety of number manipulatives. Take
a bag of numbers home so you can remember we will become math thinkers who
explore the world of numbers.
O Writing
Center: Purple Banner Move towards the writing center. Find your journal and draw or write on the
first page. Toss the drawing cubes to get different type of drawing ideas. Ask your parents to record the date and your
words. Keep your book in the bin for
journal time at school. Take home a
pencil. We will draw, write and learn to
express ourselves.
O Art Center: Green
Banner Discover your creativity! Take the 9” square and make a
drawing of yourself. Leave it on the table.
We are going to make a class community quilt. Our art program is process-focused art
experiences, which will encourage your creativity.
O Have your
picture taken.
Shake Mrs.
Sporre’s hand and say good-bye as you leave.
Find a special treasure in the treasure chest to take home to remind you
of our yearlong journey together. We
will explore, learn, create, and investigate as a class community.
